View ISO Files on Virtual Drives in Windows 8







1. Click on the folder icon in the Windows desktop taskbar.

2. Click on a drive that holds the ISO file you want on your computer.

3. Right-click a file withe the ".ISO" file extension. It will say "Disc Image file" in the description area.

1. Move your cursor towards the bottom right or top right corner of your screen. If you are using a touchscreen device, drag your finger inwards from the right side of the screen and the charms bar should appear

2. Wait for the charms bar to appear.

3. Click "Search" to search for anything on your computer.

4. Click "Start" to bring up the Start menu.

5. Click "Devices" to configure your computer's monitors and other devices.

6. Select "Settings" to open the controls for your computer's settings.

7. You can click on the 'Change PC Settings" option to jump into the PC Setting application.

Use the Start Screen on Windows 8







1. Hit the windows button on your keyboard. It's the one between CTRL and ALT on the bottom left of the keyboard.

2. Click "Desktop" when you are ready to return to your desktop.

3. Click on any of the preinstalled Windows Store applications on the start screen. For example, clicking on the camera tile on the start screen will open the camera app.

4. The start screen also houses traditional desktop applications, and they can be easily differentiated from their Windows Store cousins by looking at their tiles. Clicking on them will open the application in the desktop.

5. If you have downloaded any applications from the Windows Store, they will also show up in the start screen.

6. Right click on the tile of a desktop application to bring up controls for that application, which include pinning that app to the taskbar, running the app as administrator, and more.

7. Right click on the tile of a Windows Store application to bring up a panel which contains controls for the particular application, which include unpinning that app from the start screen, turning it's live tile off, uninstalling that particular application. The controls are application specific

8. Click on your account picture in the top right to change your account picture, lock your computer, sign out of Windows, or switch to another user account.

9. Right click on an empty space in the start screen to bring up a panel which houses the "All apps" button. Clicking on this button will take you to a list of all programs you have installed on your computer.

10. Click and drag apps to rearrange them. You can easily organize your start screen this way. You can also sort applications into groups.

11. Click on the bottom right corner to get access to a zoomed out view of the start screen. Right clicking on groups of apps from this view allows you to name that group.

12. Type while on the start screen to search your computer for those keywords.

Use the People App in Windows 8







1. Move your cursor on the desktop all the way to the bottom right to bring up the sidebar. Click "Start" to open the Start menu. You can also bring up the start menu by clicking the Windows Key.

2. Click the orange live tile marked "People." It has an icon showing outlines of people.

3. Login to People using your Microsoft Account.

4. Click on the Facebook, Twitter, or other contact options to add contacts to your People setting. You can also click "No thanks" to remove this option. Click on any contact on the right to access information about that person.

5. Click "What's new" to see all of your friends online posts in one place.

6. Scan through the posts here whenever you want to see what your friends are up to online.

Use an App to Rotate Lockscreens in Windows 8







1. Search for a lockscreen app like "Chameleon" in the Windows 8 Store app. Select the icon with the brown background and the colorful puzzle.

2. Click on the "Chameleon" option and then click "Install" to install the app on your computer.

3. Select an option like "National Geographic Photo of the Day."

4. Right-click on a photo you like and click "Set lockscreen" to make it your lockscreen. You can also right-click anywhere and click "Start" next to "Change lock screen every 12 hours" to make the lockscreen swap based on the current

Use a Vpn in Windows 8







1. Search for "VPN" in the Windows 8 Start menu. Select the "Settings" option."

2. Select the option to set up a VPN under the SEttings heading in the top left corner of the screen.

3. Type in the web address for your VPN, and type in a name for it. Click "Create."

4. Look over on the right where the Network option automatically opens. Select the VPN you want from the list.

5. Click "Connect" to connect to the VPN.
