Create a Sound Recording on Windows 8

1. Select "Start" from the Windows 8.1 charms bar, which will come up after you bring your cursor all the way into the bottom right corner of Windows. If you are on a touchscreen device, you can swipe in from the right edge of the screen.

2. Look for the arrow on the lower left part of the screen and click on it.

3. Select "Sound Recorder" from the applications.

4. You can also type sound recorder on the search box located on upper right part of the screen for a quick search if you have lots of applications installed.

5. Click the red "Record" button when Sound Recorder shows up on screen. Record anything you want, and then click "Stop." Click "file" and select "Save" to save your sound file.
