Optimize Windows 8 on Older Hardware

1. Click on the folder icon in the bottom left corner of the Windows desktop on the task bar.

2. Right-click "Computer" in the next window that appears.

3. Select "Properties" from the drop-down that appears.

4. Click on "Advanced system settings" from the list of options on the left side of the next window.

5. Select "Settings" under the "Advanced" tab in the System Properties window.

6. Select "Adjust for best performance," then click "Apply." This will shut down extra options that will let your computer run faster if it's using older hardware.
