Create User Profiles for the Whole Family in Windows 8

1. Bring up the charms bar. You can do this in three ways.

2. Hover your mouse cursor over the top right or bottom right corner of your screen.

3. If you are using a touchscreen device, swipe your finger in from the right edge.

4. Press the Windows key and the C key simultaneously.

5. Click on the "Settings" Charm from the charms bar that appears. It is denoted by a gear icon.

6. Click on "Change PC settings" when the Settings charm appears.

7. Click on the "Users" menu in the PC settings application that opens.

8. Click the plus symbol next to "Add a user," under where "Other users."

9. Fill out user details in the form that appears. You can choose between two user accounts. A Microsoft account, which is a new feature in Windows 8 that lets you access Microsoft services and synchronise settings, or a local account, which does not offer those benefits.

10. Click "Next" to add the user once you have finished configuring settings. Repeat the process for each member of your family, making sure to let them fill out their own password if they want to keep it private from other members.
