Use Windows 7 File Recovery on Windows 8







1. Open the Windows 8 start menu and type in "Windows 7" to search for it automatically. Click on the "Settings" option underneath the search box.

2. Select "Windows 7 file recovery" in the top left of the new screen.

3. Click on "Setup backup" to set up the backup procedures in the Windows 7 file recovery window.

4. Click on an external drive under the "Backup Destination" heading in the next window. Click "Next" to set up the backup. You can also click "refresh" if there are any options there that are not yet listed.

5. Hit the "select another drive to restore backup files from" if you want to restore files that you've backed up previously. Select a backup file, and then click "Next" to begin the restoration process.
